Boyce Cottages

Tallow, Co. Waterford

Boyce Cottages is a protected structure in Tallow, Co. Waterford, constructed in 1830 as almshouse accommodation for aged couples. The cottages form a picturesque single-storey terrace, of significant architectural, historical and social interest for the region. We were appointed by Waterford Council to refurbish the now derelict cottages. The terrace was converted into social housing units to updated standards, including thermal upgrade. The original form was retained along with substantial original fabric, including original roof slates and the distinctive fenestration. This was a complex conservation project delivered within the limitations of a social housing budget.
